Customer Reviews

They have the best burgers and fries! The milkshakes are absolutely delicious. The philly cheese steak is awesome as well. Friendly service with real food, that is prepared by people that know how to cook! It is a walk up dairy bar. Give your order at the window, and they will let you know when it is ready! They take call in orders as well.

Found this cute little mom and pop ice cream stop outside of Buckhorn Lake State Park. I had a lemon sour (which I added alcohol to once we got back home) and homemade chocolate cake with the works (ice cream, whipped cream, hot fudge, and a cherry) yummy!!!! Huge menu, friendly folk, clean, and good prices. Family friendly. My husband and I will definitely stop again!!!

It has been 20 years since I had the pleasure of grabbing a bite at this dairy bar. I used to work in the area back in the day and this dairy bar was a must visit back then and it still is today. After the extremely nice lady took my order I noticed people were getting their orders and while I was waiting on mine people were in and out placing orders and enjoying their food! For myself, I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and crinkle cut fries and it was made to perfection! It had freshness dripping from it and nothing was microwaved! The burger meat and bacon were plentiful and warm. The buns lightly toasted and the lettuce, onions and pickles were chilled with just the right amount of mayo all wrapped in foil just like I remembered it! And best of all the food tasted better than ever and it was under ten dollars! I would have posted some photos but the only way I could do that is if I had an x-ray photo because I left nothing, not even a crumb of bacon...lol Next time I will definitely take photos before I enjoy the delicious food at the R&F Dairy Bar. Hopefully it won't be 20 years before I eat here again. I can almost guarantee it

I used to travel with my cousin every weekend to Breathitt Co. and back and for a treat we'd often take the long way back just to stop at this little gem in the middle of nowhere. He'd typically get a couple of bacon cheese burgers and I'd get the Philly chicken steak sandwich. Always the best food and reasonable prices. You might have to wait a little but it's all worth it. The staff is wonderful. And an added bonus is being able to visit the nearby Sandlin cemetery just down the road while you wait (if that's your thing, like me).

We stopped for a couple of milkshakes, so good on a hot day. Read the posted menu, prices very reasonable.
